The first
Limousin cross calf in Australia was born in 1973 and the first full-blood
Limousins arrived in Australia in 1975. The Limousin is now the seventh
largest breed in Australia.

Growing from 380 breeders with 4,280 registrations in 1992, to 615 breeders and over 10,000 registrations in 2001. Limousins are expected to overtake Charolais in the near future to become the largest beef breed in Germany.
