Wiltshire Horn Sheep combine the strengths of an old established lowland
breed with ease of management and the ability to meet the requirements
of the modern sheep industry. Key characteristics include mimimal shepherding,
prime lean meat, excellent mothering and ease of
lambing, heavy weights with no excess fat and superb cross-breeding characteristics.
The Wiltshire Horn Sheep Society has since 1923 ensured the maintenance
and development of the breed, promoting it at home and abroad and providing
breeders, farmers and consumers with information and advice. |
